Our Brewery and Bar

On January 3rd 1995, The Ship was proud to become the first in New Jersey to brew beer for consumption on premise since the days of Prohibition. Each week we brew fine hand-crafted ales in 7 barrel batches using freshly milled whole grain. Our unfiltered beers are made in a Peter Austin system complete with handmade brick, copper and open fermenters in the old English tradition.Scheduled tours covering the technical, historical and cultural aspects of brewing are available for groups by appointment with our brewer. Individuals may enjoy impromptu, informal tours from one of our staff members. You can also watch our short “Brewing Process” video.
